October Guild Meeting
It’s already time for our October Knitting Guild meeting! Please join us at the Murray Library on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 6:30 p.m. The topic is “What’s Holding You Back?” — those knitting techniques or stitches that may be keeping you from trying new and exciting patterns and constructions. Verla Younker and Mary Triplett will help you over those hurdles and into another world of knitting. During the presentation, you will be making a soap bag using the techniques and stitches discussed.
You will need two colors of worsted weight yarn, needles appropriate for the yarn (US #7), a crochet hook about the same size as your needle (E, F, or G), and a cable needle or spare DPN.
As begun last month, we will have “Knitting Class” in the 30 minutes prior to the meeting. Experienced knitters will be on hand to help you sort out any knitting challenges. And if you’d like to just come and knit then, feel free to do that, too!
Our purge of the Guild Library continues as well — we’ll have a new batch of vintage books and patterns that are free for the taking on the “Drop and Swap” table. Be sure to bring any items you don’t want yourself for the table, and see what treasures you might find.
October is “Bring a Friend” month — let’s build up the guild! Remember, for each two newly registering members you bring to the guild, you’ll receive a free class in our Spring Workshop.
REMEMBER: If you haven’t yet renewed your membership for the 2012-2013 year, please mail in your form and dues ASAP, or plan to bring them on the 10th. Thanks!
Hope to see you next week!
